OPPOSITION parties Sieť, Freedom and Solidarity (SaS), Most-Híd and the Slovak Democratic and Christian Union (SDKÚ) will present a joint slate for the municipal election to Bratislava city council that will take place on November 15. They also plan to introduce their joint candidate for the Bratislava mayoral post next week, the TASR newswire reported.

The Sme daily wrote in its August 27 issue that Sieť will nominate Tatiana Kratochvílová, current head of the transport department of the Old Town office, for the post of Bratislava mayor. She reportedly has also the support of the remaining three parties.

Kratochvílová served as head of the traffic department at the Bratislava city council when it was led by Andrej Ďurkovský. She then became secretary of the Ordinary People and Independent Personalities (OĽaNO) caucus and assistant to OĽaNO MP Mária Ritomská, who has left the party caucus in the meantime, TASR wrote.

Four people have already announced they will run for the Bratislava mayor post: incumbent mayor Milan Ftáčnik (independent, supported by Smer), Milan Kňažko (independent, supported by the Christian Democratic Movement), Ivo Nesrovnal (independent, who recently left the SDKÚ) and Miroslav Dragun (head of the No to Pipeline civic association).
